Contemporary still life in photography...

My still life shoot is based on contemporary still life artist from 1800s. My aim was to work with minimal objects with low-key lighting to show my lighting techniques.

My images were done with using a snoot as my key light, this allowed me to be in control of the light. I also used black perspexs to place my subjects on, this was so the focus is on the subject and avoid having any distractions in my shoot.

I am happy with how my shoot went. My images show strong use of lighting and shadow.

To help me plan my shoot, I researched artists such as Henri Fantin-Latour. The use of techniques in his oil painting, with the low casting of shadow with direct lighting on the subject, it inspired me to try a similar technique in my own work.

please leave any comments that can help me progress further in the future.
