Hi and welcome to my page!

Hi, welcome to my Page!!

This Blog is to give you, the Public or if I know you,  a better look into who I am and what I am achieving in life....
I am a young Student who is aiming to make it as a  professional Photographer.....

I enjoy learning new things in the industry of Photography, I tend to be open about my work and make it to the best of my ability as well as improving everyday to make my work stand out.

In photography, I am interested in Black and white photography, I love the idea of putting my own thoughts into what the image could be about, Black and white gives you the ability to make the image whatever you want it to be. Using black and white gives off a certain feel to the image, is shows more detail underneath the colour, in my own personal opinion, I feel colour can over power the image if it is trying to show emotion, the best way I think to show off emotion is to use black and white but there is only so far Black and white can go before you need to add colour!! I love using 35mm Film camera, I enjoy been able to create original images. Creating that one image and making it special..

I am a easy going person, I enjoy learning everything there is, I am a hard worker, get everything done when it has to be done. I enjoy working in the studio, Darkroom and on location, building up a strong portfolio as I go along.

what I enjoy the most about Photography is - nothing is the same, we all have different stories to tell within a image - the image speaks for us, it can show the world what type of person we are and who we want to be as well as showing what enviroment we live in - I got into the photography because I enjoyed understanding the processes of it, there are a few photographers who has inspired me in my work, such as::
  • William Eggleston - he's work was inspirational, being able to turn anything into an image and call it art, he moved the world of photography into the next stage - from black and white to colour, how he portrayed his work inspired me to try his style but to show a story.
portrait photography
  • Agnus McBean - he's work was a major inspiration to me, as a child I loved the Theatre and he's work inspired me for my BTEC Extended Diploma art and Design Level 3 Final Major Project - I used the idea of masks within Portraiture, combing the two together.
  • Rankin - his use of lighting in his work has helped me gain confidence in the Studio, being able to take what I learnt from researching RANKIN to projecting it into my own work.
Landscape photography
  • Richard Long - the idea of mixing colour and black and white. his Black and white landscape are my favourite, being able to project my own opinions about his work - by using himself into his images, he would place himself by using shadows or making marks in the ground or even just using what was around him, his work was original and helped me in my first year of Level 3, instead I used myself to show off my research and how it was related to his work.
  • Ansel Adams - his landscape and Nature Photographs were beautiful, landscape was my first insight into photography, researching him back in fine Art, (2011-2012) I was very interested in his work, Black and white Landscape and Nature photographs gave me the chance to imagine what it was like being there, voicing what his image could mean, picturing the colours he was seeing before he took the shot, how he interacted with the fog of early morning or up in the mountains, his landscape and Nature Photographs are very inspiring to me as a growing photographer.

I am a work freak, if nothing is right, I will re-do my work until its right!! but personal feedback is important to me as it helps me to build my work stronger to the standard it should be!!

I hope this has been helpful to understand who I am and bit about why I chose Photography!!

Feel Free to leave any comments unless it's not worth saying!!

peace - stay positive
